Two centuries ago, we were conquered by a weird millennarist cult that had as a dogma the belief that liberty and equality were going to produce the paradise on Earth.
This cult would have ended up in the dustbin of history as any other millennarist cult (read “The Socialist Phenomenon”, free on the web) if the bourgeois had not used it as a propaganda to take the power from the aristocrats. For the bourgeois, liberty meant “we don’t have to submit to the Ancien Regime rules”. Equality meant “we are not inferior to the aristocrats”. The bourgeois waxed lyrical about “all men were created equal” while having slaves and restricting the vote to men with property. How convenient.
The problem was that the bourgeois revolutions won and the cult became the official ideology of the State, as the justification for the revolutions. So it was the first time in history that a millennarist cult was backed by the powers that be. People were indoctrinated in this cult through the school and the media. In addition, this coincided with the progress of the brainwashing techniques (compulsory school, media, psychological studies).
To make things worse, the cult was very stupid, very dangerous and very attractive. It was very stupid (you can’t found a political system on liberty and equality, because the liberty and equality of a person is the lack of liberty and equality of another person). It was very dangerous because liberty and equality are the synonym of entropy (the antonym of structure). No structure (a human body, a cell, a society) can endure the liberty and equality of its parts. So the cult was a dissolvent acid for society. But the huge wealth produced by the Industrial Revolution managed to hide the sign of this dissolution.
It was very attractive because it aligned with the “scowling id” of human beings (“less work”, “more sex”), which has been developed for the more entropic environment of the Paleolithic. As a result, the human instincts are always trying to go back to the Paleolithic and they saw the cult as sweet (read JMSmith’s “There must be Chains and the Lash for the Scowling Id” here in the Orthosphere).
The dissolvent acid of liberty and equality started dissolving the self-regulation of the scowling id by means of personal conscience and social stigma (read “Bring back stigma” free on the web), while dissolving the structures that made conscience and stigma possible (the church, the “little platoons,” of clubs and associations, the neighbors that knew each other and controlled each other). As a result, self-restraint decreased so life became a fight of everybody against everybody.
The conflicts multiplied and, since conscience and stigma were gone, the only way of dealing with them was with the State. As a result, we went to an increasing totalitarianism. Freedom and totalitarianism are two faces of the same coin, as Rousseau knew. This is why “this “anti-hierarchy, anti-history, anti-institution notion is being coupled with the most repressive, authoritarian, mind-control garbage since the Stalin and the Soviet Union.”
So, yes, we are reaping the logical consequences of an absurd ideology. If I think that men are cars, the logical consequence is that men are entitled to gasoline. If I think that men must be free, the logical consequence is that they must be free to decide if they want to be a man or a woman. We planted the seed of the destruction of Western society in the Enlightenment and now we see the destruction reaching its logical conclusion.
This is why the Right always loses. They accept the absurd premises (liberty, equality) but they don’t accept some logical conclusions of these premises. IMHO, the Right has only one course of action before the collapse: trying to create little platoons.
The Left, as any millennarist cult, try to see itself as the underdog surrounded with powerful enemies. This allows them to mobilize the troops and to justify any action while retaining the moral high ground. Cheating on election is good because we have to stop Hitler. Their leaders and media spread this victim mentality that preys on broken people, which are mostly leftist. “The woke cries out in pain as he strikes you””

Hace dos siglos fuimos conquistados por una extraña secta milenarista que tenía como dogma la creencia de que la libertad y la igualdad iban a producir el paraíso en la Tierra.
Este culto habría terminado en el basurero de la historia como cualquier otro culto milenarista (léase “El fenómeno socialista”, gratis en la web) si la burguesía no lo hubiera utilizado como propaganda para arrebatarle el poder a los aristócratas. Para los burgueses, la libertad significaba “no tenemos que someternos a las reglas del Antiguo Régimen”. Igualdad significaba “no somos inferiores a los aristócratas”. La burguesía se puso lírica acerca de que «todos los hombres fueron creados iguales» mientras tenían esclavos y restringían el voto a los hombres con propiedades. Qué conveniente.
El problema fue que las revoluciones burguesas ganaron y el culto se convirtió en la ideología oficial del Estado, como justificación de las revoluciones. Así que fue la primera vez en la historia que un culto milenarista fue respaldado por los poderes fácticos. La gente fue adoctrinada en este culto a través de la escuela y los medios de comunicación. Además, esto coincidió con el avance de las técnicas de lavado de cerebro (escuela obligatoria, medios de comunicación, estudios psicológicos).
Para empeorar las cosas, el culto era muy estúpido, muy peligroso y muy atractivo. Es muy estúpido (no se puede fundar un sistema político sobre libertad e igualdad, porque la libertad e igualdad de una persona es la falta de libertad e igualdad de otra persona). Es muy peligroso porque libertad e igualdad son sinónimos de entropía (el antónimo de estructura). Ninguna estructura (un cuerpo humano, una célula, una sociedad) puede soportar la libertad e igualdad de sus partes. Entonces el culto es un ácido disolvente para la sociedad. Pero la enorme riqueza producida por la Revolución Industrial logró ocultar los signos de esta disolución.
Era muy atractivo porque se alineaba con los “instintos básicos” de los seres humanos (“menos trabajo”, “más sexo”), que fueron desarrollados para el entorno más entrópico del Paleolítico. Como resultado, los instintos humanos siempre están tratando de volver al Paleolítico y vieron el culto como algo dulce (lea «There must be Chains and the Lash for the Scowling Id» de JMSmith).
El ácido disolvente de la libertad y la igualdad fue disolviendo la autorregulación de los instintos básicos a través de la conciencia personal y el estigma social (léase “Bring back stigma” gratis en la web), al tiempo que disolvía las estructuras que hacían posible la conciencia y el estigma (las iglesias, los “pelotones” de clubes y asociaciones, los vecinos que se conocían y se controlaban). Como resultado, el autocontrol disminuyó y la vida se convirtió en una lucha de todos contra todos.
Los conflictos se multiplicaron y, una vez desaparecida la conciencia y el estigma, la única forma de enfrentarlos fue con el Estado. Como resultado, pasamos a un totalitarismo creciente. Libertad y totalitarismo son dos caras de la misma moneda, como sabía Rousseau. Es por eso que “esta noción de ‘anti-jerarquía, anti-historia, anti-institución se combina con la basura más represiva, autoritaria y de control mental desde Stalin y la Unión Soviética”.
Entonces, sí, estamos cosechando las consecuencias lógicas de una ideología absurda. Si pienso que los hombres son autos, la consecuencia lógica es que los hombres tienen derecho a la gasolina. Si pienso que los hombres deben ser libres, la consecuencia lógica es que deben ser libres para decidir si quieren ser hombre o mujer. Plantamos la semilla de la destrucción de la sociedad occidental en la Ilustración y ahora vemos que la destrucción llega a su conclusión lógica.
Por eso la derecha siempre pierde. Aceptan las premisas absurdas (libertad, igualdad) pero no aceptan algunas conclusiones lógicas de estas premisas. En mi humilde opinión, la derecha solo tiene un curso de acción antes del colapso: tratar de crear «pequeños pelotones».
La izquierda, como cualquier culto milenarista, trata de verse a sí misma como un desvalido rodeado de poderosos enemigos. Esto les permite movilizar las tropas y justificar cualquier acción manteniendo la autoridad moral. Hacer trampa en las elecciones es bueno porque tenemos que detener a Hitler. Sus líderes y medios difunden esta mentalidad de víctima que se aprovecha de la gente rota, que en su mayoría es de izquierda. “El progre grita de dolor mientras te golpea””
