The Left keeps winning against the Right, because the Right is only a lite, old-fashioned version of the Left.
Since the so-called Enlightenment, all the Western politics is based on a religion based on two absurdities:
1. Liberty: The political system should be based on freedom (this is impossible, because the freedom of one man is the lack of freedom of another man: it is like saying that you can have a world with left sides without right sides)
2. Equality: People are equal and the political system has to guarantee this equality (this is impossible: no two people are equal. When you try to force equality according to one criteria, you end up with inequality according to another criteria.
The politic life of the last centuries has consisted of unpacking these absurdities. That is, extracting the logical consequences of these absurdities.
The Left is the party that accepts the last logical consequence of liberty and equality so it moves forward in this deranged way. The Right accepts liberty, equality and all their consequences until the last one. This is why the Left wins: it is more coherent in a system with absurd premises.
For example, when it comes to gay marriage, the Left says that gays can marry because they should have the freedom to do so and the equality with straight people. The Right accepts freedom and equality but it does not accept gay marriage, its logical consequence. You cannot win if you accept the premises of your enemy.
In the work realm, meritocracy was the first unpacking of equality. Meaning, people were free not to follow the job of their fathers (so it was opposed to medieval corporations or guilds). Priestly jobs were open to everybody.
Affirmative action is the second unpacking of equality. When some races performed worse than others in the meritocratic game, this was against equality. Since equality is a religious dogma and cannot be denied, the only explanation is that some races oppress other races. So, to enforce equality, affirmative action is the only fair solution because it neutralizes this oppression. This kind of reasoning is the same that produces «equity» and the «woke» movement.
The Right will only be able to win when it rejects freedom and equality and embraces the hierarchical nature of society. But, after being constantly defeated during the 19th century, the last remnants of this true Right were smashed in the two World Wars. What we call «Right» is only an old-fashioned version of the Left that accepts all its premises but rejects the last conclusion. So it is doomed to always lose. «Beautiful losers» , called them Sam Francis.
